Position: Acupuncturist
Job Site: 2809 T Street, Sacramento, CA 95816
Rate of Pay: $95,784/year

Job Duties: Administer specific therapeutic treatment of symptoms and disorders amenable to acupuncture procedures; Assess patients; condition independently as a primary care provider and perform appropriate physical examination; Review patients’ medical histories, physical findings and any diagnosis made by a physician to ascertain the symptoms and disorders to be treated; 

Develop individual treatment plans and strategies and provide consultation and acupuncture sessions; Apply knowledge of acupuncture points and their functions to select proper needles and insert them at anatomical locations known to be efficacious to certain conditions; apply electro-stimulation if favorable; Monitor needles in patient for specific length of time and then remove them according to the symptoms treated; Prescribe customized herbal formulas considering herbal properties such as taste, toxicity, effects of preparation, contraindications, and incompatibilities; inform patients of dosages and frequencies, treatment duration, possible side effects and drug interactions; Perform auxiliary treatments including moxibustion, infrared therapy and cupping etc. if necessary; Perform proprioceptive neuromuscular facilitation stretching to increase patients; range of motion; Educate patients to practice postural corrective exercises and rehabilitative exercises; provide nutrition and diet guidance based on principles of Traditional Chinese Medicine; Maintain complete records of health care plans and prognoses; adhere to HIPPA, Federal and State guidelines; follow safety, environmental protection and infection control policies and procedures; Evaluate treatment outcomes and assume responsibility and accountability for the continuity of professional care.

Minimum Requirements: Master’s degree in Traditional Chinese Medicine, Acupuncture, or
related (or foreign equivalent).

Special Requirements: The State of California Acupuncture License is required.
